Is there a way to dismiss Page.DisplayAlert() on background xamarin.forms app?

In regular android you'd save off the dialog and close it on home button pressing. But you're not given a dialog object you can dismiss in Forms. Is there some mechanism to close the dialog after the app backgrounds.
